Summary/Abstract: The sexuality of persons with intellectual disability is still a taboo subject inPoland. Parents and teachers aren‘t talking with disabled persons about sex, becausethey have in fear of an unnecessary interest in the subject of sexuality. Such an attitudewon‘t solve a problem but only will deepen it. In consequence it will cause even deeperdisturbances in this area. Sexual behaviors are natural behaviours of the man and everyonehas the right to a sexual activity. To be a human being means to be a sexual being.We must enable disabled persons to stand up to the own sexuality. Surviving the ownsexuality is helping better to understand himself, to accept the own body and his needs,as well as to raise self-esteem. He will let also satisfy the need for love and of the respect,as well as the self-realization.
