The Scoring Method of Determining the Sectoral Fundamental Power Index on the Example of Companies Listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The main goal of the paper is to present a simple method of identifying the leading sector on the capital market. Methodology – The scoring method of determining the leading sector is based on the idea of construction the fundamental power index. The proposed method uses the scoring approach. In the construction of the meter were used a selected fundamental factors. This method uses an elements of fundamental analysis and multidimensional comparative analysis. Findings – In the paper was verified the practical useful of the proposed method. An analysis was done forcompanies listed on the WSE. The research cover the period of time 2006–2010. Originality/Value – In the paper was proposed the simply method of determining the leading sector. The method included an information of fundamental power for companies forming the sector and number of companies included in given sector. It is a new proposition in the field of useful for proposed methodology and the practical way of research for determining the leading sector on the capital market with the use of elements of fundamental analysis and multivariate analysis.
