Summary/Abstract: Transportation is an important area of the economy. The transport fills a series of tasks daily functioning of the state. The period of the accession of Central and Eastern Europe countries to the European Union, including Poland is the time of intensive investments financed by structural funds. The countries of the region have gained significant resources to improve the infrastructure and operation of most types of transport modes. This article is a review and ordering information on the functioning and development of major modes of transport. It retains the traditional distinction between road, rail, inland waterways and air transport. Quoted statistics for the period 2005-2015 in order to compare changes in transport infrastructure development.
