Summary/Abstract: This article describes a very important issue concerning energetic safety of European Union. The interest in energetic safety increased at the turn of the 20th and 21st century. At the beginning the author brings closer the conception of safety and shows its definitions. The rest part of this ar-ticle is dedicated to aspects of energetic safety. The author writes about subjective, objective and spatial aspect of energetic safety. Presentation of basic documents that had influence on creating energetic safety is the content of another part of this article. The document’s review starts with the foundation of European Coal and Steel Community and end at the Treaty of Lisbon. The last part of the article is devoted to energetic safety of new EU members. In the end the author pay attention to what should be done to elaborate general energetic safety policy for EU countries.
