Summary/Abstract: Syria represents one of the countries affected by a revolutionary wave known as the Arab Spring or as Arab revolutions which caused one of the biggest crises in contemporary society in Syria. The consequences of this crisis were felt around the world and especially in the EU countries. The main goal of this paper is to analyse causes and consequences of the Syrian crisis. The risk of spillover effect of this conflict is evident, no one is safe, and the consequences of this event has brought numerous divisions between the EU member states. They were not prepare for the migrant crisis and the following events, and they act individually without finding consensus on what to do. Terrorism has become the central place of this crisis, and the most dangerous threat for all countries all over the world. The crucial thing for overcoming this crisis lies in achievement of agreement between Assad and the opposition in Syria. This become a very hard task. One of the major obstacles for the achievement of the dialogue in these areas is the lack of organization of the opposition in Syria. Syrian opposition is a set of people with different ethnic and religious background and they do not constitute a united front. Resolving the Syrian crisis is not an easy task. Somehow it looks like that this will become in future one of the eternal frozen conflicts. Real solution of this crisis would mean a series of social, economic and political reforms without the interference of other countries. Perhaps the greatest challenge for Bashar al-Assad is the solution of the problem how to be a leader of all Syrian citizens no mater of their ethnic or religious background.
