Summary/Abstract: Starting from the words of Balzac, „There is nothing less known that what everybody should know: the law“, the present paper approaches a traditional issue, apparently old, of the fundaments of the law, whose complexity offers it a permanent actuality. Compared to the extent provided by the title, the analysis is merely a reflection and an invitation to return in history to rediscover the origins of modern law.
