IS VILLAGE TOURISM THE FUTURE OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KOSJERIĆ?

Summary/Abstract: On the territory of Kosjeric community, there are many kind of natural (geomorphological, hydrological, climatic and biogeographical) and anthropogenic touristic values (monasteries, churches and monuments). Majority of touristic values, natural as well as anthropogenic are not valuate sufficiently. This is the reason we can talk only about potentials for development rural tourism.Although the rural tourism has practiced on this territory since 1982, total results remains behind potentials that objectively exist. There are 5 or 6 villages which can satisfy tourist needs. Total capacity is about 60 beds. However, there are expectations that current trend which is in stagnation, will progress in future because Tourist Organization of Kosjeric community undertaking measure and concrete actions to encourage development of rural tourism.This work presents results of questionnaire research that includes opinions of tourists and their hosts in the villages of Kosjeric community. The results present their estimates about current level of development of rural tourism in this region and their attitudes about protecting environment.
