Local authority in the focus of organizational psychology

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the decentralization of local government as part of the mandatory goals of developing local self-government in the context of synergizing regional and European policies. Focus is on the relationship between organizational psychological factors and the functional processes typical of the transition from centralization to decentralization. Among the aspects discussed are the role of the leader, the hierarchical structure, the dialectic between the two processes of centralization and childhood. The conclusions outline the positive aspects of change as well as the importance of organizationally psychological factors for understanding and managing the decentralization process.
