Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with some non-Czech literary reflections of Bohemia and itsculture/cultures: in Central-European historythe notion of Czech culture is not univocaland the perception of Czech Bohemia is notcontinual. The region, situated in the samecentre of Europe, since medieval times hasbeen the theatre of crossings and encoun-ters, as well as the scene of conflicts andremovals. Literature preserves and restores, recalls traces and restitutes values fromoblivion, creating at the same time fictionalcharacters and places, which can conceal thereal ones or at least change their nature andshape. An elusive Bohemia, located some-where else, thus mythical, is frequent in itsGerman literary reflections.
