The External Balance in the Years 2007–2015 as the Distinctive Factor of EU Countries

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to identify the level of EU countries diversification in terms of external balance. This is done by analyzing financial openness, net international investment position, current account balance, level of external debt, stability of funding sources and reserve assets. Hierarchical agglomerative clustering and k-means clustering was used. As a result, homogeneous groups of countries were identified and the sources of their isolation were identified.
