The manifest proclamation of the Bulgarian historical avant-garde (Lamar; "Novis" magazine and the circle around it)

Summary/Abstract: This text is part of a study devoted to the Bulgarian artistic avant-garde in European cultural, historical, aesthetical and philosophical contexts and its typological manifestations. It examines the avant-garde manifestations of artists united by Lamar around the magazine “NOVIS” and traces back the emergence of the magazine. Also, it shows the manifested pronouncements of the avant-garde and makes an analysis of the ideas that define it as a historical one according to Peter Buerger’s typology. It presents also a monitoring of the artistic works that appeared on the pages of the magazine, which works should show in practice the potential of the avant-garde as an imaging system and aesthetic means for a direct life- and world-construction.
