Summary/Abstract: In this study the author makes a comparison of data on the amounts of announced bankruptcy of enterprises operating on the Wroclaw economic market in the period attributable to the decline of the global crisis, and right after it. In order to compare possible changes, the author also refers to the data for the period before the outbreak of the crisis and its early stage. The aim of the research paper is to present the actual difference between the amount of announced bankruptcy in time of prosperity and in times of crisis. In addition, the author bases his reflections on the case study whose subject is a company operating in the Wrocław market from 2004 to the end of 2014. The conclusion of the study is to confirm the thesis that as a result of penetration of the global crisis to ever further structures, which is the obvious effect of globalization, there is the effect of “shifting” during noticeable changes in the economies of individual countries.
