Summary/Abstract: October 1, 2010 marks the 125 anniversary from the birth of Mykolas Krupavičius, one of the most wellknown personalities, who recreated and consolidated independent Lithuania. He was the fighter for Lithuanianism, organized and implemented a land reform, a politician, journalist, and a conspicuous figure in emigration. December 4, 2010 is the date, marking 40 year from his death. A good number of articles and books were written about M.Krupavičius and his works, whereas his activity in exile, in Germany and the USA, as well as his views as the Chairman of the Chief Committee for the Liberation of Lithuania (VLIK) and the Executive Council were accorded insufficient attention on the part of researchers. Thus, today, while remembering this venerable Lithuanian, we shall attempt to make analysis of his views and simultaneously to evaluate his role in the consolidation of the independent state by the Lithuanian nation, as well as in the postwar years when the nation fought for its Freedom and Independence.
