Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the meeting of Polish Foreign Minister, Witold Waszczykowski with President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. The analysis is conducted within the context of the Ukrainian crisis. The author, who recognizes the Russian-Ukrainian conflict as one of the main causes of the re-opening of Polish diplomacy to Belarus, analyses the meeting while referring it to the contemporary international situation. The article focuses on the geopolitical role of Belarus and its importance for Poland. The author fi nds analogues between the geopolitical positions of Belarus and Ukraine, which, in his opinion, affect Warsaw’s policy towards Minsk and the Ukrainian crisis. Additionally, the article includes a brief description of Polish minister’s visit to Belarus.
