Summary/Abstract: The article is a review presenting the first volume of Mirosław Sosnowski’s “Jan Kasprowicz. A Biographical Tale” (“Jan Kasprowicz. Opowieść biograficzna, Zakopane 2015), entitled “A Peasant Coat” (“Chłopska sukmana: 1860–1889”). Sosnowski is trying to reach out to lay readers and his way to do so is by employing fictionalisation, which does not diminish the fact that the biographical tale about the life of one of the most prominent poets of the Young Poland period is an enterprise on an impressively grand scale and intriguing by the virtue of the method used.
