Summary/Abstract: The strong development of the new media influences the quality of modern political communication and also the condition of modern journalism. This article analyses the consequences of the presence of the new media for journalism as a profession and the political communication as a system, particularly at the level of international communication. The results presented in this article are based on semi-structured individual interviews with German newspaper journalists.
