Summary/Abstract: The study I propose to the readers of this journal represents a brief excursion into the details of the socio-economic daily life, being by no means negligible some political contextual references to the Transylvanian territory in the first two years of the Great War. The main topic consists of the specific of the wheat and of the basic aliments market that has benefitted from the „precedences” of the conflict period. The wheat and generally speaking the cereal crops, then in particulary the corn misery, that has been intended to substitute the wheat for bread in the bakehouses beginning with 1914-1915 has generated a continuous series of decrees regarding the regularization of the consumption, of the prices and of the distribution. At the half of the studied period (1915) it has been resorted to sequestrations and lately to distraints from producers and from any source it could be identified. The winter of 1914-1915 has emptied unequally the storehouses in some Transylvanian parts so that it has been tried to cope with these situations through finding a compromise for enabling the acquisitions deriving from the import. The present study aims, through presenting a large range of documents, at outlining two cases of involvement in this issue whose protagonists have been Transylvanian leaders.
