Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the definition of the term ‘personal records’, circumstances that led to the establishment of procedures for their processing which we employ, analysis of the standard structure of personal records in the Central Archive of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and their applicability. To conclude I will focus on some problems with the definition of personal records.
