Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issues concerning the norm included in can. 286 of The Code of Canon Law. The author presented the rationale of this norm in its historical development, made a linguisticlogical and purposeful interpretation of it, and showed different forms of prohibited and allowedactivity of the clerics in the field of trade and business.
