Summary/Abstract: The current paper concerns the impact of the First World War on Andric’s poems Ex Ponto (1918) and Nemiri (1920). The poems, written in dungeons and prisons, as well as the article Nasa knjizevnost i rat (1918), talk about Andric’s style, which besides the lyrical level has also contained a historical view. Since the very beginning of Andric’s creations, the endured war themes have become historical themes and universal poetic messages.
