Summary/Abstract: The article presents legal acts determining security and protection of physical, mental and moral health of children and youths enforced by the media legislation of the German Federal Republic. The analysis of the acts is complemented with regulations of administrative, civil and penal law. The legal grounds for the title problem is the Electronic Media Act of 20 December 2001 (Staatsvertrag über Mediendienste vom 20. Dezember 2001, the Multimedia Act of 1 August 1997 (Informations-und-Kommunikationsdienstgesetz vom 1. August 1997), the Teleservices Use Act of 1 August 1997 (Gesetz über Nutzung von Telediensten vom 01. August 1997), Youths Protection Act of 23 June 2002 (Jugendshutzgesetz vom 23. Juli 2002), Data Protection in Telecommunication Services Act (Teledienstdatenschutzgesetz) of 1997. Selected administration subjects obliged to protect children and youths in Germany and obligations of the senders following from the legislation on the media are discussed.
