Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the work. The research is related to the study of the creative work of Ukrainian composer Zhanna Kolodub and the detection of the synthesis of various styles in her opuses, which is a characteristic trend of the development of national music of the late twentieth century. Scientific novelty. For the first time in Ukrainian musicology Concertino for the oboe, chamber orchestra, harpsichord and percussion instruments of Zh. Kolodub (1988) was analyzed in detail and the special features of its style, dramaturgy, structure and imaginative-emotional content were revealed. In addition, there is information on the history of the creation of this opus, its most famous performers and positive reviews of domestic researchers. Research methodology. The historical comparative method is used in the work, which makes it possible to determine the special features of the musical language of Zh. Kolodub’s Concertino from the point of view of combining characteristic expressive means of different styles. The methodology of the analysis of the structure of the artistic text, relevant in modern musicology and literary criticism, has also been applied. Conclusions. In this one-part orchestral composition there are signs of a three-part structure with an unconventional relationship of sections "slowly – quickly – slowly", which is characteristic for the development of the genre of instrumental concert at the end of the twentieth century. The basis of the image-emotional content of Concertino is the polarization of contrasting states: contemplation and action, statics and dynamics. This principle of dramaturgy is embodied by the opposition of the lyrical and scherzo-dance images. In this composition, written in modern musical language, the signs of neoromanticism, neoclassicism and neofolklorizm are combined with expressive means of impressionism and elements of jazz style. With the help of such a dialogue of different cultures and epochs a deep philosophical overtone is embodied in Concertino, namely the idea of understanding and awareness of eternal spiritual values by a modern man. Due to the originality of the idea and the delicate use of the timbre characteristics of oboe, the researchers attribute Concertino Zh. Kolodub to the best achievements of modern Ukrainian music.
