Summary/Abstract: The following article presents the history of the Cluj-Mănăștur (Hung. Kolozsmonostor, today a neighborhood of Cluj-Napoca) Domain between the years 1867 and 1869. The Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867 brought major changes in both the Kingdom of Hungary and in the Great Principality of Transylvania. The case of the Cluj-Mănăștur Domain does not make exception to this. This Domain underwent several changes, including a shift in administration. Before 1868, the estate had several owners, the last being the Transylvanian Treasury, which neglected it in the last 20 years. In the fall of 1868, the Domain was transferred to the Catholic Commission and a year later to its successor, the Provisional Catholic Commission of Transylvania. Another major change was the establishment of the Higher School of Agriculture in 1869.
