Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the issue of the function and meaning of eating for the members of the Hare Krishna movement and follows the question what cultural specifics of eating are significant for this movement. In this paper there are also presented topics such as symbolism of food, the principles of sacrifices which are related to the principles of purity, eating habits, sacredness of cows or food sovereignty.
