Summary/Abstract: The city of Belgrade was the most importaint pole of concentration of Serbian population, and population of former Yugoslavia. Imigration into the city was very rapid in XX century. Geographic position, history and economic, social and other functions are the main reasons for very rapid population increasing. Political events in the last decade of XX century caused very intensive migration flows toward Belgrade from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and some years later from Kosovo and Metohija. That was the main factor of population development in capital of Serbia. In this paper are analized qualitative and quantitative characteristics of displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija.
