THE NECESSITY FOR LAND FORCES BATTLEGROUPS TO DIVERSIFY THEIR STRUCTURE AND ACTION

Summary/Abstract: Given the trends of military conflicts in the proximity of our country, on the one hand, and the features of the land forces brigades’ operating mode with the highest operational level, on the other hand, we consider it necessary to develop the concept which covers the use of these large units in combat.The land forces brigades have accumulated knowledge and experience in operations as to deploying operations by successive participation in international missions in theaters such as Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, by deepening the allied doctrines of the NATOrepresentative armed forces, by updating their documentation and, last but not least, by intensifying the training of joint and combined armed forces both at the national and multinational level.Regarding the combat involvement of the operationalized units and large units in terms of mission organization, we believe that they are able to act both in the known format based on the current organizational organigrams and in the format of mission-oriented battlegroups.
