TERRORISM – A MAJOR GLOBAL THREAT IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: Terrorism is a serious global threat to mankind, as well as to national and international security, and that is why the subject is topical nowadays. The authors briefly present an objective analysis of terrorist attacks and the terrorist phenomenon in general which demonstrates that the likelihood of conducting a successful terrorist attack is very high as compared to the total costs for preparing and conducting the action and the possibility of catching and interrogating the suicidal terrorist is rather small. Thus, the authors came to the conclusion that there is a real need, nationally, for research and analysis of the research methodology in the terrorist field, and especially the quality of laws in this domain in order to create a proper legal framework with respect to terrorism.
