Summary/Abstract: Within an ever-more globalized and integrated world, we notice that there are poor states and rich states as well as states which become poorer and poorer while others become richer and richer. As the impoverishing processes become deeper, more and more international policies are sought to combat poverty and blatant inequalities. If in the past, at the national level, it was believed as acceptable to witness poor people's migration individually from one region to another, now we are undergoing a massive migration process from one state to another and from a geographical area to another, with global implications upon international security.
