Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the analysis of information society, identifying the main components of information utility, following Yoneji Masuda’s approach on information society. In this framework, along with the unprecedented technological advances, legislative aspects are sometimes outdated, especially when it comes to critical infrastructure and access to data and information. In this regard, information law must be developed if not as a specialized branch of law at least as an academic discipline that might cover issues related to classified information, access to public information, protection of personal data etc.
