THE BLACK SEA IN THE CURRENT GEOSTRATEGIC CIRCUMSTANCES

Summary/Abstract: The author tries to draw the attention of the ones concerned to the complex issue of continental and regional geopolitical aspects of the Black Sea by performing an analysis of the ever-lasting space and temporal dimensions of the area and their impact on the geostrategic environment. At the same level of analysis, the author identifies the factors generating risks to the security of the Black Sea region, with an impact on the global level of security, among which the transit of terrorist and organized crime elements towards Central and Western Europe through the Black Sea region and the massive flows of immigrants from Asia and Africa towards Central and Western Europe.
