challenges for libraries

Summary/Abstract: The topic of e-book lending legitimately issued as a preoccupation of libraries soon after the production of this kind of electronic publications increased. As one of the main purposes of libraries is to make available for the users documents on different media, thee-books became a target for their acquisition policies.On the other hand, the borrowing of this kind of document aroused from the very beginning a number of concerns regarding the protection of the copyright and of the commercial interests of the publishers. We are briefly presenting the developments in this field,which has not yet become but it will be for sure a challenging one also for Romanian libraries in the near future.
