New technologies challenging the Romanian university libraries

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the new challenges brought by new technologies of information and communication in the university libraries. Nowadays, there is a real boom of documentary resources and libraries should cope with that. Most of the libraries in the private universities do not meet the necessary quality standards requested by the modern infodocumentary institutions. There is necessary to identify financial resources to endow libraries, in order to decrease of differences between the Romanian libraries and those in the developed countries.
