Summary/Abstract: The article deals with patients’ right to pastoral care in bedside medical facilities in the context of international law. The author draws attention to the provisions of international law and individual European states, which govern patients’ access to chaplain services within healthcare. It points out that the right to pastoral care belongs to every patient and must not be restricted by medical personnel or public authorities. The author also analyses the status of pastoral care in bedside medical facilities and points to possible pitfalls related to inadequate legal regulation.
