Summary/Abstract: The security of countries belonging to the European Union was one of the elements which was intentions of its creators from the beginning. Currently the Schengen area comprises 28 countries, where the most important protective measure from the police point of view is the Schengen Information System. Its purpose is ‘to maintain public order and public security on the territoriesof countries – Parties of the Conventions’.
