In the matter of financial transfers between EU and Poland

Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this paper is to identify the receivables from EU, their structure and dynamics and Poland’s contribution to EU, in order to set a net position of a country and its role in Poland’s GDP. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The basic research problem is quantitative and qualitative analysis of the financial transfers between EU and Poland. Research is based on a descriptive method with dynamic analysis of statistical data from data bases of NBP and Ministry of Finance. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The work is divided into three parts. The first presents the value of transfers from EU and their dynamics, the second the structure of receivables from EU and the third Poland’s contributions to EU and net position. RESEARCH RESULTS: Research conclusions show, that that balance of flow between EU and Poland is favorable for our country from the first year of membership. Poland is net beneficiary of increasing EU grants. Their role in GDP also show growing tendency. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Research findings should be widely disseminated in the society in order to convince not only euro‑skeptics to financial benefits resulted from our membership in this organization. Further research should be continued based on the original data from the beneficiaries about efficiency of EU’ transfers.
