Space and time in Romanian Incantations

Summary/Abstract: The space and time coordinates open new ways of reading the Romanian incantations, of understanding them. Space and time acquire new qualities in Romanian incantations. The issue of the two coordinates, the spatial and the temporal ones, within the research of Romanian incantations, raises questions regarding an archaic mentality, a way of thinking, a way of being in the world, a way to find yourself in relation to certain symbolic representations. Space and time are two philosophical categories that have opened up many debates both in the past and in the present. Our goal is to research the space and time in the Romanian incantations, to look deeper into the symbolic representations. The treasure of the Romanian incantations surprise by their expressivity and by their capacity to activate symbolic images specific to the Romanian folklore.
