National documentary patrimony preservation and valorization through digitization

actual phase of the Romanian Digital Library project

Summary/Abstract: The article aims to synthesize the actions for preservation and valorization the documentary patrimony through digitization and creation the Romanian Digital Library. There are underlined the provisions of the Public Policy for digitization and the principles to achieve the national digital library. In the same time, there are mentioned activities and projects relevant for creating digital content that expresses the cultural and scientific patrimony from the national library system libraries. The insufficient human and financial resources and technological means, as well as the lack of commitment and project postponing at national level reduce the achievment of the Romanian Digital library to the efforts of some institutions.
