Summary/Abstract: Husserl formulated the concept of semantic categories in Logische Untersuchungen (1901), which were later used by Leśniewski to construct a formal language for the foundations of mathematics. The author focuses on the language Protothetic described in Grundzüge eines neuen Systems der Grundlagen der Mathematik (1929), presenting in clearly defined language, how Leśniewski used so-called. “Terminological clarification” (Terminological Explanation) characterised by semantic categories.
