Summary/Abstract: The Bulgarian presidency of the EU is both a challenge and an opportunity for the country to mobilize the existing capacity, to achieve unity around European policies and to show that Bulgaria is a reliable and equal member of the EU. Moving half-year forward Bulgar-ia’s presidency brings about a serious shortening of the preparation period both for our country and the newly-formed “trio”. The Presidency of the Council of the EU is an ex-tremely important political challenge. This is a unique chance to demonstrate the qualities of the Bulgarian diplomacy and to acquire additional managerial skills of the representa-tives of our country within the EU.
