Summary/Abstract: The examination of field material, collected during several years of field research of the epic poetry and gusle-playing tradition, brought several complicated questions. Therefore, this study is organized in three relatively separated holes, and intercrosses the emic and etic perspectives in its analysis. After a summary over view of the existing research of female gusle singing, we offer the portrait of Radojka(Dragutinović) Mojićević. The texts recorded from the collocutor are viewed in the framework of a complex, differentiated tradition of epic chronicle singing, together with the indication of transformations in post-folklore epics. Particular attention is devoted to the establishing of trans-genre links and inter crossings, i.e. the function of interpolated structures (epic chronicle, lamentation, and curse) as well as to the discovery of links with archaic (literary) templates.
