Public Policies as Organized Activities in the Public Sphere

Summary/Abstract: The four articles published below are the results of a thematic session entitled "Towards Public Sociology" devoted to the memory of Professor Edmund WnukLipinski, who died in 2015, which we organized together at the Sixteenth Polish Sociological Congress of the Polish Sociological Association (Gdansk, 14-17 September 2016). The session was very popular; A total of 20 papers were presented in three consecutive editions. A lively discussion of these speeches confirmed our intuition that the sociology of the public sphere as a conceptual proposal has considerable potential for exploration and explanation of the meanders of Polish transformation.
