Summary/Abstract: In this paper we realized a study concerning the changes in the theory and practices of organizational communication under the influences of technological progress. Information technology and communication (ITC) is present in the business theories and practices, digitalization being a trend that no company can avoid. Organizational communication is adapting its discourse to this new framework brought by ITC. The openness generated by the Internet determines the permeability and flexibility of organizational boundaries so that for organizations is easy to access external knowledge but harder to keep and protect internally-created knowledge. In the organization of the future knowledge is an important product and asset, influencing all organizational processes. Therefore, we showed that the new technologies lead not only to the reconfiguration of the communication but also to the reconfiguration of organizational processes. The organizational communication must face these changes and to incorporate these developments into its discourse.
