Interdisciplinarity in the research of travelogue discourse

Summary/Abstract: The travelogue is one of the most fertile areas of comparatist research in the last decades. The problem of travelogues has been examined by literary studies, but also by historiography, geography, anthropology and culture studies. Thanks to the methodology of intertextual interpretation, this liminal genre becomes important and interesting in our period of postmodern humanist science. The travelogue, with its openness and transformation, favoured avant-garde experiments and distancing from canonical literary forms.
