Summary/Abstract: A Diligent Researcher of the Romanian-Italian Cultural-Artistic Relations: Professor Grigore Arbore-Popescu. In the last three decades, professor Grigore Arbore-Popescu, with Consilio Nazionale delle Ricerche from Italy, has distinguished himself in the field of the history of European art. Graduate of the University of Bucharest, of the "N. Grigorescu" Institute of Plastic Arts of Bucharest and of the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa (Italy), the historian Grigore Arbore-Popescu offered Romanian and world historical writing a series of studies concerning the morphology of urban forms in the Renaissance, form as vision during the Baroque, ancient civilizations (Dacian and Roman), the steppe culture in old Kazahstan and Siberia, spirituality, art and authority in post-Byzantium Eastern Europe. At the same time, he translated into Romanian and presented papers of foreign art historians and acquainted Europe with the great Romanian artistic values, which granted him a most respected place in the history of contemporary European art.
