Summary/Abstract: The legislator in the Code of Canon Law of 1983 states that those who have received sacred orders are qualified, according to the norm of the prescripts of the law, for the power of governance, which exists in the Church by divine institution. Lay members of the Christian faithful can cooperate in the exercise of this same power according to the norm of law (can. 129). In the article the author analyzes the basics of the cooperation of faithful lay faithful in the power of governance and their participation in the collegial organs of the particular Church, i.e. the finance council, the pastoral council and the mediation council.
