Summary/Abstract: One of the most beautiful psalms ever written by King David is the 50th Psalm. The deepness of the message, centered on the idea of repentance, reminds each and every one of us about the effect of the sin in our lives and how to become closer to God , seen as the only absolute source of redemption.Committing adultery with the wife of his solder, named Uriah and then plotting his death in the war, King David has burdened his soul with two heavy sins, for which God rebuked him through the prophet Nathan. The literary essence of this unfortunate incident was the 50th Psalm, an expression of repetance for a recognized fault. At a first level, the 50th Psalm, expresses King David’s repentance after he has committed adultery, an event recounted in the second book of the Kings, but in which we can also find a second meaning, of the repentance of the people returned from exile, where he became aware of his infidelity, as well as the sorrow of every man whos has realised his sinful condition. The main idea imprinted in the heart of the one who reads or utters this psalm is that anyone with a theoretical speculation can not approach to God, but with a heart pirced by our own conscience of littleness and sinfulness .
