Summary/Abstract: The article discusses terminology associated with the formation of new words and presents the concept of the imitatives. The verbal imitatives and verbs of imitative origin are collected from the sources of Old Prussian language and their structural characteristics is analyzed. The imitatives of Old Prussian language are compared with the ones of Eastern Baltic languages.
