Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the issue of perception of portable interactive multimedia guides by the museum visitors. Data from a total of 993 questionnaires, filled out by the visitors of three oceanographic museums from the South Baltic region (in Gdynia, Klaipeda and Stralsund), where interactive multimedia guides were implemented as part of the BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus international project, were analyzed. The results clearly indicate a very good visitor rating of this form of guided tours, and additionally identify, among others, the main reasons for choosing this form of guided tours, groups of users, which, in the opinion of visitors, may be particularly interested in e-guides, and types of content, which they expect to receive in the e-guides.
