Summary/Abstract: The environmental problems or risks are complex and multifaceted, leading to a multitude of visions and approaches, even conflicting to each other, for identifying strategies to cope with and eventually solve these problems. Typically, different entities (individuals, economic entities, states or other supra-state institutions, etc.), use different methods or models to identify, predict or asses environmental risks and, as a result, they design sometimes dissimilar preventive strategies. In such a context, becomes increasingly clear the need for a common understanding of the environmental problems or at least some clarifications in this vast variety of opinions.
