Uwzględnianie wymagań związanych z ochroną środowiska przy projektowaniu i realizowaniu inwestycji drogowych
Taking environmental considerations into account in the case of designing and implementing road investments

Summary/Abstract: The article presents and, as far as possible, discusses the provisions of the Polish law aimed at securing the needs of the living elements of the human environment in the design and implementation of road investments. Its purpose is not to present the technical aspects of the road construction process set by the applicable legal norms, but to show, how to ensure the principle of sustainable development in relation to the surrounding environment (flora and fauna) is guaranteed, which in a longer, not always perceived, dimension, is as important as satisfying the current needs of the users, and more important than the people’s comfort. The additional task is to guide why the human environment is so important to the human. After presenting the initial issues – the legal bases and terminology contained in them – the author goes over to discuss the environmental requirements and procedures applicable to the construction of roads, taking into account the practical aspect – by using a concrete example. The general conclusions are preceded by a reference to the subject matter of the passages for animals.
